Vandalism causes Gosport town water boil advisory

The Town of Gosport was under a 48 hour boil water advisory until July 8.

The town is investigating an incident, Town Council President Marian McGee wrote in an email.

“As this is being investigated we are not allowed to talk about this, as soon as we know something we will let you know,” she wrote.

In a Facebook comment posted to the group “Gosport Chatter,” McGee said someone almost drained the water tower dry. The water tower sits along 6th Street.

A paper advisory sent to town residents said the water notice was due to vandalism.
