Vandalia Strawberry Fest is June 7

The annual Vandalia Community Preservation Association (VCPA) Strawberry Fest will take place June 7.

Strawberries, shortcake and ice cream will be served at the historic Vandalia Schoolhouse from 2 to 4 p.m.

Blue Flame, a bluegrass band featuring Savanna Musgrove on fiddle, Ethan Batan on mandolin (2023 National Mandolin Champion) and Luke Lovejoy on guitar (2018 National Flatpick Champion), will perform a variety of bluegrass, country and more at the Vandalia Historical Chapel from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of great music and delicious dessert while supporting a great cause. The cost of the event is $12 for adults and $5 for children (age 10 and under), which includes both the food and the live music.

Proceeds benefit VCPA for preservation, restoration and maintenance of the historic chapel (built in 1895) and one-room schoolhouse (built around 1860).

The event will take place in the village of Vandalia (six miles west of Spencer on S.R. 46) at 5471 Vandalia Rd., Spencer, off of S.R. 46 and S.R. 246.
