Roland Smith is the author of “The Wildes: The Amazon” and “Thunder Cave,” along with numerous other popular novels for young readers. His books take readers on thrilling journeys filled with adventure, wildlife, mystery, and unforgettable characters.

Both “The Wildes: The Amazon” and “Thunder Cave” are available to check out at the Owen County Public Library and digitally through Libby, making it easy to read them before the event.

The Read-n-Feed experience will bring the pages of both “The Wildes: The Amazon” and “Thunder Cave” to life with specially themed rooms designed around each book. Visitors can explore the Amazon-themed room inspired by “The Wildes” and step into the African Savanna of “Thunder Cave” through interactive activities, games, special themed snacks, and other book-inspired experiences. The Read-n-Feed rooms will also be open for visitors to explore and experience throughout the event.

The Read-n-Feed program is designed to encourage young people to discover the excitement of reading while connecting books to real-world experiences. For the full Read-n-Feed experience, readers are encouraged to read “The Wildes: The Amazon” and/or “Thunder Cave” before November 4th. Knowing the characters, adventures, and details of the stories will make exploring the themed rooms and meeting Roland Smith even more exciting.
